The World Cup 2010 is less than a week away, and lots of international friendly games are taking place every day. In today’s World Cup 2010 international friendlies the Unites States played against Australia, World Cup hosts South Africa went head to head with Denmark, and the Netherlands destroyed Hungary but may have lost a key player in the process.
World Cup 2010 international friendlies: Australia Vs USA 1-3
The United Sates easily beat Australia for an international friendly game played on South African soil. Edson Buddle was the star of the friendly match for the United States team, scoring two goals in the 4th and 31st minute. Everton player Tim Cahill scored a goal in between for Australia, and Herculez Gomez closed the score in extra time. World Cup 2010 international friendlies: South Africa Vs Denmark 1-0
South Africa is on an impressive run and managed to stay undefeated for yet another game, reaching 12 consecutive games now. The host nation beat Denmark by 1-0 on the last friendly game for both teams before the World Cup 2010. Katlego Mphela scored the only goal of the international friendly in the 76th minute, see below for all video highlights of the friendly match:
World Cup 2010 international friendlies: Netherlands Vs Hungary 6-1
The Netherlands easily beat Hungary by 6-1, but the bad news are that Arjen Robben got seriously injured and could miss the World Cup 2010. Robben came in as a substitute in the second half, scored two goals but left the stadium in pain just four minutes before the end of the friendly game. Coach Bert van Marwijk admitted after the international friendly that Arjen Robben will not be flying to South Africa with the rest of the team, but will have to stay behind and see if there is a possibility he can recover on time for the World Cup 2010.
