Paraguay is located in South America and together with Bolivia are the only landlocked countries in the Western Hemisphere. There are two official languages in Paraguay, Spanish and Guaraní an indigenous language of South America. Paraguay has roughly 6 million inhabitants, and the capital and largest city is Asunción with half of the total population of the nation living there (2.8 million people). The Paraguay football team will participate in the Fifa World Cup for the 8th time, and they have reached the 2nd round of the tournament on three different occasions (1986, 1998, 2002). Paraguay will have some tough games in Group F of the World Cup, going against champions Italy, Slovakia and New Zealand.
