England’s coach Fabio Capello bluntly said in an interview yesterday that according to him Spain is the grand favourite to win the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Either looking to release some pressure from his own football team, or maybe just speaking the truth exactly as he sees it, coach Capello also added that he is a big fan of the style the Spanish team plays.
“Spain plays with a lot of confidence and a system that is very hard for any team to confront, they do not depend on just one player to score goals”. The Italian coach did not forget the traditional World Cup powers saying that Brazil is also very hard to beat while Argentina has improved a lot recently. As always Germany and Italy are also very dangerous, while the Netherlands have an amazing young team, but in the end he has complete trust in his own squad. Capello said that he is satisfied with their effort so far, and his players are in top condition with the exception of David Beckham of course that was “a huge blow” for the team.
Spain is still going on an amazing run after winning the 2008 Euro, and the only team that had ten wins in ten games while qualifying to the 2010 World Cup finals. The Spaniards are coming to South Africa as the number one contender for the trophy and will definitely be the team to beat in the tournament.
