Finally some good news for England that since the beginning of the year has seen quite a few of the team’s players getting seriously injured. We all know that David Beckham will definitely miss the World Cup in South Africa after tearing his Achilles tendon approximately 3 weeks ago. And when last Monday Wayne Rooney left his Manchester United game on crutches, fears of another important player losing the World Cup finals emerged. But it is now clear that the injury is pretty minor, and coach Sir Alex Ferguson himself announced yesterday that Rooney will be out for just 2-3 weeks, saying that “The nation can finally breathe”.
Today Fabio Capello’s assistant said that Ashley Cole will also be ready to help his national team in the World Cup tournament. England’s defender was injured in February and there was a huge possibility that he wouldn’t be ready to play in South Africa. Apparently he is back to training and doctors suggest that he should be 100% ready within 3 weeks. Cole made a tromendous effort the last few weeks to get over his injury as fast as possible and the hard work is finally paying off.
