Chile is located in South America and is a narrow strip between the mainland and the Pacific Ocean. Chile and Ecuador are the only two countries in S.America that do not border Brazil. There are approximately 18 million people in Chile, and the official spoken language is Spanish. The capital and largest metropolis of Chile is Santiago, with over seven million people living there. Chile has appeared in seven World Cup tournaments and was the host of the 1962 Fifa World Cup football. Chile will participate is in Group H and will battle Switzerland, Spain and Honduras.
