Free tickets have been given away by FIFA and World Cup organizers to all construction workers who contributed to building the Stadiums that will host the football games during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. About 27 thousand workers will receive two tickets each to attend different matches during the 2010 World Cup, including the long expected opening football game of South Africa against Mexico on June 11th.
This promise to honor construction workers with free World Cup 2010 tickets had been made back in 2008, and now seems that the promise has been kept. FIFA President Sepp Blatter and the Local Organising Committee’s CEO Danny Jordaan handed over a symbolic ticket last Monday during the Ticket Fund event that took place at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg. The representative of the workers who built and renovated the 10 World Cup 2010 Stadiums received this symbolic ticket, as well as a big thank you. The South African construction workers managed to finish the job at the end of 2009 despite some strikes over wages that put the deadline of the completion at risk.
Jordaan expressed his gratitude to all South African men and women for their hard work and commitment in building the most amazing stadiums in Africa and throughout the whole world. The free World Cup tickets will start being distributed to workers on May 17 in various host cities offices. The 2010 FIFA World Cup is now expected to bring another 360 000 tourists, excluding visitors from the Sub-Saharan region.

How does one go about applying/receiving their free tickets?
Is there a procedure to be followed?
They were starting the ticket distribution on May 17th. I suggest you go to the host city office near where you live. Hope it helps )
