Combined surveys from Mercer, Forbes, the Citizen’s Council for Public Security and CNN place World Cup 2010 host city Cape Town in the top ten most dangerous cities in the world. Cape Town was selected because the city has one of the world’s highest murder and crime rates, with an average of six killings happening each day. The surveys also take into account the effectiveness of local police, law enforcement, and overall political stability.

To put this into perspective, some of the other cities selected in the top ten include Baghdad, Beirut, Caracas, Juarez and Detroit. War zones, terrorist controlled territories, drug cartel playgrounds and a gangster’s paradise. And of course World Cup 2010 host city Cape Town completes the list.
