The coach of Argentina Diego Maradona has selected the following 23 player squad for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa that compromise the team’s World Cup squad. Maradona has called six Argentinian league players in his squad, which is the most since 1998. The rest of the 17 players all play in European leagues. The list below is the official Argentina World Cup team roster as announced before June 1st 2010 and cannot be modified unless a player gets injured before the opening game of Argentina in the 2010 World Cup. The captain of Argentina’s World Cup team is Javier Mascherano of Liverpool.
