The coach of Portugal Carlos Queiroz has selected the following 23 player squad for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa that compromise the team’s World Cup squad. Real Madrid defender Pepe has been included in Portugal’s final World Cup squad despite having been out of action since December due to an injury. Apart from Pepe there are no other surprises in Carlos Queiroz’s roster for South Africa. The list below is the official Portugal World Cup team roster as announced before June 1st 2010 and cannot be modified unless a player gets injured before the opening game of Portugal in the 2010 World Cup. The captain of Portugal’s World Cup team is Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid with vice captain Paulo Ferreira of Chelsea.
