World Cup 2010 Results and Standings

Below are the current results and standings for the World Cup 2010 available for each of the eight groups of the tournament. Individual match results are next to each group. World Cup 2010 teams receive 3 points for a win (W), 1 point for a draw (D) and no points for a loss (L). After the end of the group stage the first two teams of the final standings from each group advance to the second round. In case of a point tie the overall goal difference (GD) in all group matches is taken into consideration to determine the winner. If this is also a tie, ranking is based by the following criteria: the greatest number of goals scored (GF) in all group matches, the greatest number of points in matches between the two tied teams, the goal difference in matches between the two tied teams, and finally the greatest number of goals scored in matches between the two tied teams. If all that doesn’t work the advancing team is decided with a draw by the FIFA Organising Committee.
