Australia is the only country in the world that is also a continent (the smallest human inhabited continent) and is located in the Southern Hemisphere. That makes Australia a Federal parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy at the same time. Cities in Australia are considered among the world’s highest in terms of quality of life and culture. The capital of Australia is Canberra, and the largest city is Sydney with a metropolitan population of around 4 million people. The Australian football team has played in two FIFA World Cup tournaments (1974 and 2006), with 2010 being the third time Australia has qualified.
