Algeria is located in Africa and is the largest country with direct access to the Mediterranean sea (11th largest in the world). Algeria has a population of around 35 million people. The official language is Arabic, but French and Tamazight are also widely spoken. The capital and largest city of Algeria is Algiers with almost 3 million inhabitants. The type of government is Semi-presidential republic, and the head of state is the President of Algeria. The Algerian football team has qualified three times for the World Cup and has won the Africa Cup of Nations once. Algeria will be playing in Group C and going against Slovenia, England and USA.
