New Zealand is an island country located in the south Pacific Ocean, and it is mainly compromised of 2 large islands and numerous smaller ones. The official languages of New Zealand are English, Māori and the New Zealand Sign Language (language of the Deaf community). The population of New Zealand is around 4 million, with 300,000 inhabitants in the capital city of Wellington, and almost 1.5 million inhabitants living in Auckland which is the largest and most populous urban area in the country. This is only the second time that the New Zealand football team will participate in the Fifa World Cup, the last time the team qualified was in 1982. New Zealand is playing against Italy, Slovakia and Paraguay in Group F of the 2010 World Cup.
