John Terry World Cup 2010 interview

John Terry World Cup 2010John Terry is one of England’s most experienced defenders, so he has every reason to believe that his team’s defence will be the key to success during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. According to Terry the defensive line of England needs to be as good as the team’s offence that coach Fabio Capello believes is the absolute strongest point of England.

“It’s in our hand to keep England’s defence strong,” says Terry adding that “it all depends on us keeping a tight defensive line up, but there is still a lot of work to be done so we can be equally good as the offence.” John Terry believes that a powerful defence can give England their second World Cup trophy after 1966, something that now looks like a possibility more than ever before.

“The goal we conceived in the friendly game against Mexico shows that he still need to work hard to be ready for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. I know Ashley Cole and Glen Johnson from Chelsea, and I am very familiar with Rio Ferdinand’s game so we can all make a great defensive line. If we are strong in the back we have a great chance to succeed since the team has quality offence and we can definitely score goals.”

John Terry declined to make a comment regarding his relationship with Wayne Bridge, and the affair scandal that costed him the England captaincy earlier this year.
